I go to college durring the day and work at night. I am not much of a cook. I lived off fast food for 100 % of my daily meals pre op.  Right now i find myself eating once a day.  Anybody know of any convenience foods or take out foods that i could eat and not get nausea. I understand that it varies based on the person. However if you have any ideas let me know. Thanks Also how do you slow down your weight loss I am only nine weeks out and under 200 lbs already. I am also always FREEZING. Well any advice would be appreciated. If you know of any dieticians in Schaumburg or surrounding area. Let me know thanks again

I am not a nutritionist but I live close :-) seriously though , anyone can be a nutritionist - there are no standardized guidleines to be one.  you need a dietician. in   order to be a  dietician they need extensive education, and must meet strict standards.  There is a large bariatric practice at Alexian brothers in Elk Grove.  I would call the hospital and ask for a referral for a dietician who is experienced with wls. the loss will slow down all on its own, and then you will plateau and wonder of you are stuck forever, so enjoy th eloss now, while developing good eating and exercise habits so you camn maintain over the long term.  the freezing problem seems almost universal.  When I am working long shifts etc. I always pack my own food.  no sugar added yogurt, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs,  a sandwich wrap with turkey and cheese rolled up. I roll it in a tortilla but you could also use a large lettuce leaf. made ahead is easy to eat on the go.  when I cook chicken breasts I always make a couple extra  and then slice them and store in a zip lock bag for lunches.   I sometimes buy the little 3 oz tuna packs and put it on a salad, lots of protein, easy and convenient.  I got some little plastic containers to put a little sald dressing in, for a salad or to dip baby carrots. or a tablespoon of peanut butter to spread on a slice of whole wheat bread or apple slices. i bought a nice big insulated lunch bag and some blue gel freezer packs and it was the best investment to keep my lunches cold and fresh.  be creative - once you get in the habit is gets much easier HUGS & congrats

Hi Liz, The freezing ended at about 2 months for me. I have not experienced any type of nausea.  Have you spoken to Dr. F. about this ?  You should have referrals to see someone at Evanstomn Hospital or St. Francis.  Have you scheduled your 3 month  appointment yet?  You should be meeting to discuss your protein intake as well as excercise schedule.   Early on, I lived on EAS protein shakes which had loads of protein and that took care of helping get all that protein in.  I agree with Willow on the tuna, the 3 ounce cans are the right amount and about 20 or so grams of protein.  Starkist has a foil pack that has 3 ounces of tuna that do not need draining as well as a few crackers and low fat mayo and pickle relish.  Since you are only at 9 weeks,  you need to be very careful how you introduce new foods to your pouch.

Once again, I cannot stress enough the need to speak with someone from Dr. F.'s office, they can help you with food choices as well as your being cold, especially in summer. Best of luck, Mary

Hi Liz - It will be a year for me on Aug 30th and I still stay cold.. actually freezing.  I agree w/ the others, just do what your doing and your body knows when it's time to slow down.  It sounds funny to hear "how do I slow down my weightloss".  Just enjoy the journey and be glad you are losing fast, you will be to goal in no time.

I eat tuna and Melba toast a lot for lunch.  Turkey on swiss rolled up.  apple w/ pb.  banana w/ pb
